2K has proudly announced that the Borderlands 3 Rare Chest Riches event is live now and will be going on for a full two weeks. Alongside this announcement is also some goods news in regards to a much-requested request.
Running through to February 13th, this new mini-event will give Vault Hunters an increased rare drop rate, in turn, providing a much better chance of finding a legendary weapon when you open a chest.
The increased drop rate will also apply to anyone watching a Twitch streamer open a rare chest as long as you and the streamer have the ECHOcast Twitch extension enabled. Full details on how to link your SHiFT and Twitch accounts can be found here.
2K has also announced that the hotfix which added the temporary min event has also announced a much-requested fix. Vault Hunters will now find that the drop rates of rare spawns, Hammerlock hunts, and targets of opportunity have permanently increased. In further addition, the recently released Takedown at the Maliwan Blacksite scaling event will continue indefinitely, instead of ending yesterday as originally planned.
From here onward the Takedown at the Maliwan Blacksite and all future takedown events will scale by default, although an update due to release in February will enable the ability to switch to ”True Takedown Mode” to allow you to play the modes as they were originally intended.
