Diablo IV Revealed At BlizzCon 2019

During BlizzCon 2019 Blizzard Entertainment revealed Diablo IV, which is currently in development for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC. Attendees of BlizzCon 2019 lined up to be some of the first people to play the game’s show demo. There’s no mention of a release date but I’m willing to bet it will be sometime in the second quarter of 2020.

In this latest game of the series, an ancient evil is threatening to engulf the whole of Sanctuary in complete darkness. In response to this threat, new heroes have been called upon to take on the evil by facing challenges the world has yet to see.

Designed with a grim storyline and to allow players to forge and explore their own path across the world of Sanctuary, this is the largest Diablo game yet and also features an expanded world compared to the previous games in the series. What’s more, is that players will be able to meet groups of other players within the game’s shared world.

Despite the shared world part, Diablo IV can be played with friends or on your own allowing you to explore and take down enemies on your own or team up to create a seriously badass team capable of great things or you can battle each other in hardcore one-on-ones.

“Sanctuary has been a home to Diablo players for more than 20 years, and it’s with our own deep passion for the series and a deep appreciation of the community that we announce Diablo IV today,” said J. Allen Brack, president of Blizzard Entertainment. “We’re excited to be returning to the dark, quintessential Diablo gameplay that players love while expanding the world and story in new ways, and we can’t wait for more people to be able to experience it.”

At BlizzCon 2019, Blizzard showed off the first three character classes of the game, all of which were playable in the demo.

The Barbarian, known for their unparalleled strength and brutal melee combat, utilizes a new and more powerful system in battle, Arsenal, which arms them with the ability to carry and rapidly switch between four different weapons at a time by assigning them to individual attacks.

The Sorceress hearkens back to their Diablo II roots and shapes the elements to obliterate their foes by impaling them upon jagged spikes of ice, electrocuting them with bolts of lightning, or raining flaming meteors from the sky.

The Druid is a savage shapeshifter whose updated playstyle empowers them to fluidly transform between a werewolf, werebear, and human form to unleash the raw power of nature’s fury on the forces of the Burning Hells.

Diablo IV

Diablo IV development is being done using modern technology that is said to push the franchise to new depths. This technology is at the heart of everything a player sees and hears making it a much more engaging game to play.
