Command and Conquer Remastered Collection coming

To celebrate 25 years of Command and Conquer, EA has revealed that a Command and Conquer Remastered Collection has been in the works and will release on Origin and Steam on June 5th.

“Our team has been working hand-in-hand with the C&C community since day one and we hope this transparent dialogue will result in the Command & Conquer Remastered Collection being a love letter to our fans,” said Jim Vessella, Lead Producer at EA. “We’re taking the classic gameplay that ushered in a new era of the RTS genre and adding the most fan requested features like Skirmish mode for Tiberian Dawn, quality of life control improvements, and full Steam integration with UGC support. For me personally, having been a C&C fan since I was 12 years old in 1995, working with the original Westwood Studios team members at Petroglyph has been a dream come true.”

Being developed alongside the Command and Conquer community, the classic RTS has received a whole host of upgrades and enhancements to help bring the game to the modern gaming era. Featuring rebuilt graphics and textures and support for 4K resolution as well as remastered seven hour soundtrack from Frank Klepacki, the original composer. The community has helped to bring the project to life and shape it with their input by requesting features such as a revamped user interface, updated controls and a map editor to show off their own creations.

Multiplayer has also been rebuilt from the ground up for modern gaming experiences with custom games, 1 v 1 quick matches, elo matchmaking, leaderboards, replays and more.
